"Found this on our first night. Superb seafood and decent wine. Went again on our last night in Alicante"
"Traditional Spanish food, nice wine/beer, pleasant service and reasonable price. Perfect!"
"Very pleasant culinary experience. I wish to find more authentic Spanish restaurants like this in future."
"Lovely family-run restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Food is delicious, the owner is very kind, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!"
"Kitchen closes at 4pm and re-opens at 8pm. If you are coming for a menu of the day, arrive by no later than 3pm. The food was above average. While there, they turned away more than 11 people, mostly foreigners. Although on google they say they are open, the kitchen is not. The locals must know... :P"
"Really good find. Just up from the market in Alicante. Great tapas, served efficiently and very tasty. They also do a Menu del dia for €15.90 which looked great. Highly recommend"
"Having a meander around Alicante center in the evening we spotted the name and thought it sounded nice so after checking out some Google reviews....as you are doing....we thought we'd give it a shot. It was quiet in the evening and as such when we got there it was empty. We decided we'd bring the atmosphere and went in. A quick peruse of the menu was all that was needed. I spotted oxtail and my woman went for slow cooked pork cheeks. With this we ordered a bottle of house red. The wine was brought over alongside a bowl of olives (TLBs we call them. Tasty Little B(insert letters here). Not long after the food was brought over. Both plates had a good portion of meat in tasty sauce with a scant supply of chips/fries....there could have been a few more we felt. But the meat and wine were pretty good. Obviously us sitting near the window started to draw more people in as we mopped up the last of the sauce with our bread. We topped it off by orderering a slice of cheesecake to share. In my very weak Spanish I asked for one slice but with two forks...it was brought to the table.....with spoons! I really did want forks, I'm not an animal! Haha anyway we tucked in with our spoons and polished it off. It's a pity alicante was quiet as I'd like to see what it's like when it's busier."
"Highly recommended! Found this spot on Chinese social media (Red Note), and it was clearly popular with both locals and tourists. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon around 1:45 PM, about ten days before Christmas. The restaurant was perfectly busy—half full and half reserved. Although we were initially seated at the bar, the staff kindly moved us to a proper table when one opened up. The service was friendly, and staff spoke enough English to communicate effectively. Our family of three ordered four dishes in total. The total bill came to €81.50. Our Order & Recommendations: 1. Fried Baby Squids (€14) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent! The batter was tasty and perfectly crisp; a squeeze of lemon juice elevated it even further. A favorite for all of us. 2. Grilled Whole Calamari with Chips & Salad (€22) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredibly fresh and delicious. The green sauce was the highlight, very garlicky and flavorful. The accompanying salad was a welcome, healthy break from travel food. The chips were standard, needing just a touch of salt. Highly recommended if you like seafood. 3. Veal Steak (€12) ⭐⭐⭐ This was unfortunately quite dry. While I could taste the good quality of the meat itself, the preparation let it down. Less recommended. 4. Black Paella (Squid Ink) (€14 per person, minimum 2 persons) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Moist and very tasty, the rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked with ample seafood and green peppers. It was quite salty, but that is typical for most paellas I’ve tried in Spain, so it was expected. Drinks: Red wine and beer were reasonably priced. Overall, a great meal in Alicante. We left full and satisfied!"
